What is the ringtone service?
When you request a new ringtone from us, we will send to the mobile number you specify, an SMS message containing the new ringtone. Your phone, provided it is one of the models compatible with the ringtone service, will display the message "New ringtone received". Press "Options" and select "Playback" to hear the new ringtone. Then select "Save" to store the new ringtone on your telephone. Some Nokia models which support this facility will only allow you to store one such ringtone, so remember that the next time you request a new ringtone, it will replace the one you previously stored. To use your new ringtone, you will need to go to the options or profile menu on your phone and set the new ringtone as the one the phone should use.

How do I buy a ringtone or logo from RingtonesForPhones.com?
To buy a ringtone, click on your selection. A new window will open allowing you to listen to the ringtone or view the logo. Please ring the number listed for your country, note the code for your selection and follow the instructions given.

How do I use the ringtone or logo once it has arrived?
Once this special message has arrived on your mobile phone, a message will be displayed on the phone screen saying "New Ringtone/Logo Received". You can either save this directly to your phone by pressing "Options > Save" or if you prefer it is possible to listen/view first by pressing "Options > Playback/View". In order to activate your new ringtone you will need to locate the profiles or options menu on your phone and select your new ringtone as the one the phone should use. On some phones it is only possible to store one ringtone (see your user guide) so if you download a new ringtone it may replace one that you have previously downloaded.

My new ringtone has arrived but the phone still plays the old one?
In order to activate your new ringtone you need to locate the Profiles or Options menu on your phone and select your new ringtone as the one the phone should use. This will generally be found under the "Ringing Tone" menu item within the profile you have chosen. Most users select the "General" Profile and you need to remember that if you select another Profile you will also have the change the ringtone to the one you have downloaded.

Can I listen to a ringtone before I download it?
All the tones on RingtonesForPhones.com can be listened to prior to download. Just press "Click to Listen" when the new window has opened. They are all available in the MIDI format, which most web browsers should support. If you cannot hear the ringtones when you press on the play button, a free add-on to your browser called QuickTime is available from: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/

I want to order a polyphonic ringtone - what do I need?
Firstly, your phone must be WAP enabled to download polyphonic ringtones. You will be sent a bookmark which is needed to retrieve the tone form our WAP site. Also the phone needs to be able to play the multiple notes which create a fuller, richer and more musical sound. Check your compatibility. Please ensure your phone can play polyphonic ringtones before ordering.

There are several different types of logos - what are they?
There are four different types of logo messages that you can choose from:
  • Operator Graphics:
Operator Graphic replacement: - where the existing operator icon (typically text such as Network) is replaced with a Logo or picture. NOTE: Once a logo has been replaced it is not possible for the user to revert back to their original logo without a special message being sent to the phone.
  • Group Graphics:
Group Graphic pictures: - pictures can be assigned to phone numbers on some models. When that number calls and it is recognized the graphic will appear on the screen.
  • Picture Messages:
Pure Picture messages: - The ability to send messages which include a picture from one mobile phone user to another. This is supported by the latest Nokia phones (e.g. Nokia 3210 & 8210) and allows users to send a picture (graphical image) and some text to another user.
  • Screen Saver:
Screen Saver Pictures: - Picture Messages from this site can also be used as Screen Savers on some Nokias. The Nokia Screen Saver feature is based on the Nokia Picture Message format. Any received Picture Message can be displayed as Screen Saver. The timer for the Screen Saver can be set from 5 seconds to 10 minutes, meaning that when the phone has been idle or inactive for this user-defined length of time, the screen saver is activated, just like on a PC.

What is the Operator Graphic service?
Your Nokia phone will normally display the name of the Network to which you are connected on the screen at all times. With this service your phone can be sent a graphic file to display instead of this normal text. This allows you to identify your phone at a glance. When you request an Operator logo, the mobile you specify will be sent the file as an SMS message. Your phone will display "Operator Logo received". Select "Options" and "View" to see the image, then "Save" to store the image on your phone. From now on, your phone will display this graphic whenever you are within the coverage area of your Service Provider.

What is the Group Graphic service?
Some Nokia phones allow you to associate people listed in your Phone Book with groups, for example, all friends may go into one group. You can associate an image with each of these caller groups, so that when a member of the group calls, that image will appear on your screen. We send the requested image as a text message to your phone and you should see the message "Group Graphic Received". Select "Options" then "View" to see the graphic. Then use the "Save" option to store it. Your mobile phone will ask you which of your caller groups you wish to associate the image with.

How can I remove an operator logo from my Mobile Phone?
Operator logos can be removed from your mobile handset by the user. To get rid of the logo, please order a logo as normal but instead of selecting your network please select a different one, then save it when it arrives.

I ordered a logo from RingtonesForPhones.com but when it arrived my phone said "Message cannot be read"?
Firstly you need to make sure that your phone is able to receive picture messages. This message is what one can expect to see if a message is sent to an incompatible model of handset, OR if your service provider does not support the transmission of 8-bit SMS messages. Please check the list of compatible models on the compatible phones page to check that your model is capable of receiving the specific service you ordered.

How do I buy a picture message from RingtonesForPhones.com?
To buy a picture message, click on your selection and a new window will open allowing you to view the picture. Please ring the number listed for your country, note the code for your selection and follow the instructions given.

How do I use the logo message once it has arrived?
Once the picture message has arrived on your mobile phone, a message will be displayed on the phone screen saying "New Picture Message" or "New Operator Graphic". You can either save this directly to your phone (press Options / Save) or if you prefer it is possible to view the picture message first (press Options / View).

What happens if the phone I'm sending to is switched off or out of coverage when I buy a logo or ringtone?
No problem! SMS messages will be retained on the network until your phone can collect them, provided it is within a reasonable amount of time. This facility, and the length of time the message is retained on the network for you, is the responsibility of your Mobile Operator.

My new operator logo has arrived but it keeps disappearing off the screen?
If your phone is in an area of bad coverage or is out of coverage completely the new logo will temporarily disappear. An operator logo has a special code included in the data, which associates the image with a particular network operator. When you save the Operator Logo on your telephone, it will only be visible if you are within the coverage area of that specific network operator. If you find the logo does not stay on your screen, you need to check if you have you moved out of network coverage and that you gave the correct operator name when ordering. Another reason for a logo not to be shown on the screen is if you are "roaming" on an overseas network. Because the logo contains a special code that associates it with the home network that you phone is connected to, it will only be displayed when you are using that network.

I ordered a new Polyphonic Ringtone, Animated Screensaver or Colour Background, but when I visited your WAP site it said "incorrect pin" or "pin expired".
When you order an item which requires you to download from our wap site, you will receive a bookmark or pin allowing access to download it. This pin or bookmark is only valid for a limited time before it will expire. If you have not downloaded the item and it has expired you will need to contact the Help Line in your local country with your order details who will be happy to re-send another pin to your mobile.

I placed an order with RingtonesForPhones.com and haven't received anything.
Orders are normally delivered instantly. However, due to SMS limitations this can take up to 24 hours. If you have not received the item after 24 hours then please contact the Help Line in your local country with your order details who will be happy to re-send your order.
